A Writer's Words

Don't worry, despite the title this isn't going to be another (pretentious) post where I offer advice to writers who are both better and more successful than me.

"A Writer's Words" is the (pretentious) name of a story I wrote ages ago*, which I've just got word will be published some time in the new year in a small press anthology of psychological horror... Links and stuff when I know more.

* to give you an idea of just how long ago, the main change I did when submitting it was to change all the references to 'Walkman' to 'i-Pod'...But old is good, no?

Morpheus Tales

The dark fiction magazine Morpheus Tales have accepted one of my short stories for a future issue...

You can check them out here: Morpheus Tales.

The story in question is called 'Home Time' and if ghosts are the past come back to haunt us, well then it's a ghost story.

Practical stuff about when it is out I don't know yet.

Ideas, Ideas...

Following on from my initial post, obviously with one short story published I can now show off and write columns giving other writers advice...

Somewhat surprisingly, the Seattle Examiner agree with me, and have published some thoughts of mine on that old cliche "So, where do you get your ideas?"

Feed The Enemy

My short story, 'Feed The Enemy' is available from Books To Go Now, errm, now. Exiting. You can download it as a PDF:

Feed The Enemy

Kindle and iPhone versions coming soon.

The 'blurb' on the website is "Attempting to flee the capital on a day dominated by the threat of terrorism, one woman discovers that the real source of her fears might be closer to home" which I have to admit I'm not totally enamored with; in my defense it was written at short notice. Yes by me.

If that doesn't sell it to you, check out other, non-James Everington stories from the same site:
